Part of me was questioning, is this even needed and was worried about how lacking in new ideas animation has become. Having said that, the point of it was questioned. Also was interested with how far the humour had come on and how the Warners would fare in a more contemporary setting. Part of me was fascinated, being a fan of animation for goodness knows how long and some reboots have been better than expected. Expectations were mixed for this 'Animaniacs' reboot. Although 'Tiny Toon Adventures' is not related to this really characters-wise, that was a show that was brilliant at its best though 'Animaniacs' and 'Pinky and the Brain' were a lot more consistent.
Likewise with 'Pinky and the Brain' (don't like its spin off very much at all though), due to absolutely loving Brain as a character.
And act 3 is justice a typical “the Warners annoying a person” plot and it works really well.'Animaniacs' is one of my favourite animated shows, loved it when younger but love it even more so due to understanding the references and humour more. However Act one dose have the best joke in the movie I won’t spoil that thoughīut when the cast starts racing towards the wishing Star the movie really picks up and gets a lot more fun. But if Thaddeus took the penny and then Wakko starts a revolution then yeah the opening would of worked a lot better. Sure I guess it comes back at the end when Wakko wishes for two of them but I feel like the joke would of work just as well if he wished for just 1 ha’penny. Pretty much everything else was pretty pointless, the back story of the country is never brought up again, the ha’penny thing doesn’t go anywhere really. If all the first act was was them singing the opening number and then the scene in the WaterTower it would of been so much better. So yeah I Wakko’s wish is a very 6/10 movie most of my problems are in the first act and how pointless it was, most of it was telling and not showing and what they showed was not important. Just don’t expect a Christmas movie like I did cause it’s not, it’s just a movie that takes place during winter which is fine. Spoilers I guess, it’s on Hulu if you want to watch it.
